What is the Verisyse™ P-IOL?

The Verisyse™ P-IOL is an implantable lens that is inserted between your iris and cornea to correct your vision to 20/40 or better. It is most useful for patients who have between -10 and -20 diopters of myopia, or severe nearsightedness.

Is the Verisyse™ P-IOL Better Than LASIK?

Some patients are not good LASIK candidates for any of several reasons. Others prefer the reversibility of the Verisyse™ P-IOL. For more severe cases of nearsightedness, Verisyse™ P-IOL implantation has produced clearer vision with fewer higher-order aberrations than LASIK.

How Long Does the Verisyse™ P-IOL Procedure and Recovery Take?

The actual implantation of a Verisyse™ intraocular lens takes only about 15 minutes, but if both eyes are being treated is usually done in separate outpatient visits for each eye. Recovery takes only one or two days before you can return to your usual activities.
