Visian
Some of the greatest advancements in technology are taking place in the field of visual correction. Laser eye treatments like laser-assisted in situ keratomileusis or LASIK eye surgery and refractive lens exchange for using advanced intraocular lenses are allowing more people in San Jose and the surrounding area to see better and improve their quality of life.
The newest corrective lens technology is called Visian ICL, implantable collamer lens. This lens is a phakic lens, which does not replace your natural crystalline lens; instead, it sits between the cornea and the natural lens and offers an assist to your vision. Tiny sutures are used to attach the Visian lens to the iris, covering the pupil. Since the natural lens is left intact, it is still able to change shape to focus at multiple distances.
STAAR Surgical, the makers of Visian ICL say that the difference between their lens and others is the same as a normal television versus high definition television. Now you can experience clearer vision than ever before without having to go through the hassles of contacts or glasses. These implantable lenses offer a permanent vision correction solution.
If you are not a good candidate for LASIK vision correction, you may want to look at other vision correction options. To find out more about Visian, please contact San Jose vision specialists at the Laser Eye Center of Silicon Valley to schedule an initial consultation.
