LASIK can be Tax Free
If your place of employment offers a medical flexible spending account, you may be able to save up to 40% on your LASIK procedure by using the pre-tax money that goes into the account.
An FSA is a savings account used for medical expenses, including laser eye surgery. The money placed into your FSA is deducted from your gross income, prior to any taxes coming out. The FSA is also exempt from Social Security and Medicare taxes, and other federal income. The amount of money you do not put toward taxes can add up quickly to pay for LASIK.
Steps to take to find out about tax-free LASIK include scheduling your free LASIK exam with us to find out if you are a candidate. You also need to sign up for an FSA through your company. Find out what the deadline is for open enrollment from your benefits manager. Finally, find out how much your LASIK procedure will cost so you know how much money to set aside each month.
To find out more about how you can save money on your LASIK procedure in the San Francisco, San Jose, and Oakland, California area, please contact the experienced eye doctors at the Laser Eye Center of Silicon Valley to schedule a free initial consultation.
