Laser Vision Correction

The Laser Eye Center of Silicon Valley offers a host of laser vision correction options so you can finally remove your reliance on contacts and eyeglasses. Laser-assisted in situ keratomileusis, or LASIK, is an advanced surgical procedure used to reshape your cornea to adjust the refraction of light entering your eye, placing the focus back on the retina. LASIK eye surgery is safe, is proven effective, and has an extremely high customer satisfaction rate. Thanks to advancements in laser technology, the procedure is safer and more effective than ever before.

Some of the most exciting advancements are custom LASIK using the Wavefront system, IntraLase lasers, and other advanced technologies. This computer aided eye mapping allows Dr. Kawesch of the Laser Eye Center of Silicon Valley to pinpoint exactly where to make the incisions necessary to reshape the cornea. This technology allows him to account for every abnormality in your eye, even if you have astigmatism or a wrinkled cornea.

If you find out that you are a poor candidate for LASIK surgery because of thin corneas or other limiting factors, other laser vision correction options may be available. You may be a good candidate for PRK or LASEK, which are advanced surface ablation procedures that do not require a corneal flap like LASIK does. Because it requires less corneal tissue, people with thinner corneas may still undergo effective laser vision correction.
